Campo Flores Blanco returns to our portfolio as a fresh, zingy, anyday organic, dry white wine with light floral notes. Vibrant peach and tropical aromas are followed by intense fresh flavours of peach, pear and citrus fruits with tropical fruit nuances and a tinge of grapefruit. For the price, this wine is quite complex and aromatic. The Verdejo grape leads the blend in Campo Flores Blanco and provides the characteristics for this attractive, dry, organic white wine offering brilliant value
This wine is the result of collaboration between farmers in the Cuenca province and a group of English winemakers from the DeAlto project, led by Master of Wine, Giles Cooke. Over the past decade, the DeAlto team have sought out sustainably farmed and ideally organic vineyards and now have wineries in Australia, France and Spain. This wine comes from the northern part of La Mancha where the growers have been growing grapes for centuries, cultivating old bush vines on sandy chalk soils, in a hot dry climate where they have never used, nor needed chemicals. It is a perfect territory and climate for organic wines.
Selecting low yielding vineyards and ripe fruit to create a wine suitable for any occasion. The vineyards are closely monitored so grapes are picked at their best and in the cool of night. Low yielding vineyards produce healthy fruity and the wine is made in a state of the art winery, which is well equipped with the most modern winemaking equipment to produce consistent, quality wines at great value. Campo Flores takes its name from the Spanish for countryside and meadows of wild flowers that flourish in the early Spring after the winter rain.
Enjoy this wine as aperitif; it will also accompany Asian cuisine, salads, especially Tuna Nicoise
