Elegant floral and apple and pear nose with hints of hazelnuts. The palate is refreshingly zingy with apple and tropical fruits with just a hint of honey balanced by a nice lime acidity. Mostly made from the Viura grape, the addition of Malvasia adds depth which makes it a refined, young white Rioja with good length.
Another excellent wine from the top, family-run Luis Cañas Bodega in Rioja Alavesa, who pay so much attention to every step of the process from vineyards to wine-making.
Food: It is a perfect partner with tapas, seafood, shellfish, white meats and risottos.
