Dominio de Punctum Rosado is an attractive, refined blush rosado from made from organic grapes. It has aromas of strawberries, raspberries and hints of watermelon. This vintage has an abundance of strawberry fruit, with raspberry and blueberries in the background. This is a fresh, dry, fruity and smooth Rosé with excellent balance. Although pale in colour it has terrific, full flavours and a good prolonged taste.
This is a consistently delicious Rosé that knocks socks off many (more expensive) Provence Rosés. Dominio de Punctum Rosado will hit the spot where other Rosés do not tread!
This wine is made from organically and biodynamically grown grapes in the 200 hectare single-estate vineyards at 750 metres near Las Pedroñeras, (around half way between Valenica and Madrid). Dominio de Punctum do not use any synthetic pesticides, herbicides on the soil, or chemicals in the winery, and all their wines have organic status. The grapes are night-harvested to retain their freshness. There are biodynamic producers around the world and many say that this practice produces more vibrant tastes as as wines that remain drinkable for longer, relative to their price. In other words consistent, flavourful natural wines that offer amazing value.
After 8 generations as growers, in 2005 a new generation of the Fernandez family led by Jesus and his sister (and wine-maker) Ruth founded the organic Estate and Winery. With a continental climate and sandy, loam soil rich in limestone it is an ideal place to grow quality vines naturally. All their wines have organic status.
Biodynamic is a step further and involves treating the vineyards and the winemaking facility as an ecosystem that must be run in accordance with the changing of the seasons and the phases of the moon. This practice aims at ecological self-sufficiency and is geared to improving the vineyard for the longer term. They gained this added status in 2011.
