Dominio de Punctum Rosado is an attractive, refined blush rosado from made from organic grapes. Wild strawberry aromas with raspberry and hints of watermelon is followed by bags of strawberry and blueberry fruit flavours. This is a fresh, elegant and structured wine with excellent balance. Although pale in colour it has terrific, full flavours and overall lightness of touch. We can see why this wine won a Gold Medal at an International Organic Competition this year.
This is a consistently delicious Rosé that knocks socks off many (more expensive) Provence Rosés. Dominio de Punctum wines go from strength to strength!
This wine is made from organically and biodynamically grown grapes in the 150 hectare single-estate vineyards at 750 metres near Las Pedroñeras, (around half way between Valenica and Madrid). Dominio de Punctum do not use any synthetic pesticides, herbicides on the soil, or chemicals in the winery, and all their wines have organic status. The grapes are night-harvested to retain their freshness.
After 8 generations as growers, in 2005 a new generation of the Fernandez family led by Jesus and his sister (and wine-maker) Ruth founded the organic Estate and Winery. With a continental climate and sandy, loam soil rich in limestone it is an ideal place to grow quality vines naturally. Dominio de Punctum do not use any synthetic pesticides, herbicides on the soil, or chemicals in the winery, and all their wines have organic status. Biodynamic is a step further; they gained this added status in 2011.
Food match: A perfectly poised aperitif and an excellent match with fish and chicken dishes.
