Care Garnacha Blanca Nativa 2019 is a brilliant example of the delicious and different wine produced from the Garnacha Blanca grape by Bodegas Añadas in Aragon. Your attention is immediately drawn to its very intense nose with greengage and orange peel aromas, coupled with tropical fruit and attractive minerality. It has terrific, full flavours of tropical fruit mingled with hints of orange zest and nice minerality. It has outstanding balance between freshness and structure and it has a long, mouth-filling, smooth aftertaste.
Care Garnacha Blanca Nativa is an accomplished, textured wine; it consistently receives excellent reviews and high marks in Decanter Magazine:
“Floral. Fresh green apple, salty with a touch of whtie pepper on finish. Oak adds structure and interest. Bright and youthful with lovely balance.” Drink 2020 – 2023 90 Points: Highly Recommended Decanter Magazine April 2021.
“Ripe and expressive, with honeyed aromas and precise white fruit notes. Round, full and textured style.” 89 Points: Recommended Decanter Magazine March 2020.
There is an imperceptible touch of oak as it has spent just 2 months in barrel which has given this wine body, but without taking away any freshness. If you enjoy a fresh, dry, interesting white wine with a little rounding on the palate, you should discover this grape and this exciting wine that we introduced to our portfolio in 2020.
About Bodegas Añadas
Bodegas Añadas is owned by the Lázaros and Diáz families, who have 150 hectares and a purpose built winery located between Aguaron and Cariñena, about 50 kilometres SW of Zaragoza in Aragon, Spain. The climate is continental/mediterranean with low rainfall. Their vineyards are located in 4 different parcels between 500 and 900 metres. Bodegas Añadas decided to give the name Care (pronounced Karey) to their wines.
Care, is the name used by the Romans to refer to the nearby town of Cariñena, which gives its name to the oldest Denominación Origen (DO) in Aragon. It also refers to the English word care. Bodegas Añadas combines traditional vine growing skills with modern technology in wine making and huge care is taken at all stages from night harvesting through to the production of wines. There is also a link to the Spanish for Face “Cara” as Nacho Lázaro says their wines show the modern face of Cariñena; their stylish labels use artwork from Enrique Torrijos.
