a’Becketts Cuveé Victor Brut 2013 is a light, sparkling brut made from Seyval Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Auxerrois. Light apple fruit with hints of brioche aromas introduce a fresh, dry and refreshing English Fizz that has something a bit different than the conventional Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier blend. It has good fruit balance, fine bubbles and a nice dry finish with good length.
It has been made in traditional bottle fermented method and aged on its lees for 38 months before disgorgement. It joins a’Beckett’s Brut Rosé and still Rosé in our growing English selection of wines. Named after Paul Langham’s father-in-law, It gained a Bronze medal at the UK Vineyard Association National Wine Competition in 2018. A good value English Sparkling Wine!
The grapes are grown in Paul Langham’s family-run 11 acre vineyard in Littleton Panell, Wiltshire which is just North of Salisbury Plain. Paul and Lynn Langham established the vineyard in 2001. The a’Beckett’s site had been a successful fruit farm and orchard for over 50 years and with soils made up of greensand lying over chalk, it respresented a well drained site and aspect, that benefited from being sheltered from the prevailing westerly winds making it a perfect location for growing vines.
