We have always had a particular interest in wine, wine-makers and wine-making. After completing first careers, working for large organisations, we decided to combine the appeal of wine with working for ourselves – for a change – and set up Bush Vines as a small, independent wine merchant in 2006, based near Emsworth on the borders of South East Hampshire and West Sussex.
We are keen to bring wines from smaller producers to a wider audience and so here is where we’ll share news of our discoveries, let you know about our Tastings and other Events and give you information which will help you get even more pleasure from wine.
The month of May is medal-awards time for the wine industry, and the highly influential Decanter Magazine and International Wine Challenge competitions have given their highest ever number of golds, silvers and bronzes to English wines. UK Wine of the Year Trophy winner comes to Tuppenny Barn English Wine Week runs from 28 May to 5 June 2016. We were thrilled that Bodegas Gordonzello’s Peregrino Rosado 2014 won the “Best Rosado” in Wines from Spain Awards this year. We also entered Peregrino Albarín 2014 and this wine was also selected in the Top 100 wines. We are the only importer of these wines in the UK. 600 wines were “blind” tasted by expert panels, including several Masters of Wine, chaired by Tim Atkin MW. The panels selected the Top 100 wines.
