Join us for an English Wine Tasting with a difference and help to raise money for Tuppenny Barn
Alison Nightingale, owner and winemaker of Albourne Estate in West Sussex will lead us through a Tasting of 7 stunning Still and Sparkling wines, including her recently released Vermouth. Alison will also talk about the process of winemaking, describing how the fruit of the vine finally ends up in a glass.
In addition, Chichester journalist and author Liz Sagues will talk about what inspired her to write her latest book “A Celebration of English Wine.” Oz Clarke, the well-known TV wine presenter, describes the book as “a memorable run of virtual visits to the vineyards.” Signed copies of the book will be available at this event at a discount price.
The rise of English wine is a continuing success story in which Alison – a winner of the UK Wine of the Year Award – and Liz – an acclaimed wine critic and author are leading personalities. The Tasting takes place in the lovely circular Tuppenny Barn in Southbourne and promises to be an informative and enjoyable evening.
Pre-booking is essential as we will be able to cater more precisely for wine and for some savoury biscuits/nibbles to accompany them, plus importantly achieve funds for Tuppenny Barn Education Centre.
Parking is available for around 25 cars at Tuppenny Barn, and on the roadside nearby in Southbourne Lane and Penny Lane. Southbourne Station is a 13-minute walk, via First Avenue and Garsons Road. Number 700 Bus runs from Portsmouth, Havant or from Chichester/Bosham etc… and stops near Tuppenny Barn.
