Award winning wines at competitive prices
Lockdown is tentatively easing as we enter week 20 since it began on 23 March. Pubs, restaurants and hairdressers have opened their doors in a limited way and face masks (or coverings) are now required to be worn in shops. However, the advice to maintain a social distance of 2 metres is still with us. This, coupled with the continuing reduced number of people in a shop at one time, means that browsing a website and home delivery for wine is a really good option.
We are all about sustainably produced wines that offer something a bit different from the mass produced wines, so why not discover some new #lockdown wines. If you live between Southampton and Arundel and the area up to around Selborne, we can deliver to you within a few days. For “further afield” addresses it may take a little bit longer. (see below).
We are highly conscious of the health of all our customers especially in these difficult times. We operate within the Government guidelines of keeping our distance of at least 2 metres, with a delivery to your doorstep (or other convenient place), ringing your bell and retreating with a wave!
Discovering new wines & ordering
Please browse our On-line Wine Shop and Case Offers. You will find many English wines as we are keen to support our home-grown Wine industry, not least because their wines are stunning but, as many are facing a worrying future as a result of Coronavirus pandemic.
We are also supporting South Africa where the impact of a second ban on alcohol sales within SA, has hit the industry hard. They are now relying totally on exports. With this in mind we have put together a new CAPE CLASSICS CASE OFFER or you can select from a wider range of world class wines in our Wine Shop. You can also read our blog posts on 2 outstanding wineries in South Africa – Iona and Strandveld – in our News & Views Pages.
We are continuing with our ENGLISH WINE CASE OFFER a bargain introduction to six still English wines – take a look at these, or you can make your own selection from our great prices on English Still and Sparkling wines.
LATEST – OUR ROSÉ PAGE IS BUSY! and all our CASE OFFERS are selling well, especially “All in the Pink” Case Offer” which has been a top seller! Our brand new “Behind the Label” Case Offer – Wines with a story from South Africa & Spain is popular too.

Delivery & Payment
We are grouping our deliveries together, this means that we can be very responsive to local orders, [within 20 miles radius of Emsworth PO10]. However, if you are in the “further afield” areas of our wine delivery range, it may take us a little bit longer to reach you, so please email or phone 01243 378618 and we can advise a timescale. Our delivery areas are here.
We can take payment by BACS (preferred), by cheque or you may wish to pay on-line.
Thanks for your support
We want to ensure that your wine rack is not depleted during these difficult times and we would like to thank all our customers for their support, it means a lot to local, small businesses. We would also like to thank to Jancis Robinson MW for listing us in Purple Pages as a Wine Deliverer to Self-Isolaters.
We will keep our Home Page updated, so check back here for any further updates.
About Bush Vines
Bush Vines, specialists in distinctive wines from small producers in Spain, England, South Africa and New Zealand, is an independent wine merchant covering the South East Hampshire, South Surrey and West Sussex areas.
Why do we limit our selection to just four countries? Because we want to know as much as we can about all our wines and their producers. The variety of grapes, wine styles and quality in Spain alone is amazing and we have concentrated our efforts here on about 40 wines from 25 different bodegas, with a few selections from winemakers in England, South Africa and New Zealand to provide the styles of wine that the warmer climate of Spain cannot produce.
We source all our wines from small wineries, usually family-owned, that pay attention to detail in the vineyards as well as in the making of the wine. Many are organic, some are bio-dynamic and most apply the principles of minimum intervention i.e. no spraying or added chemicals.
Why Bush Vines (with a “V”)? Because allowing the vine to develop as a single bush, rather than entice it to climb a trellis, is the traditional method of growing grapes in Spain – our main specialist country. Oh, yes, our surname is “Bush” as well!
Be it an every-day or a fine wine, our list contains distinctive wines from both famous and less well-known regions that provide value for money and show true regional character. Several of our wines have won awards, including IWC, IWSC, Decanter and Wines from Spain; you will see these details and Tasting Notes when you click on a wine in the Wine Shop.
Please visit our Wine Shop to discover our range of great value, quality wines. We aim to offer the keenest prices, consistently throughout the year. We do have Case Offers and occasionally we may offer a few wines at a discount, usually to clear stock to make room for new vintages.
If you have any queries or are seeking advice about wine, please email or call us on 01243 378618. Join our email list to receive news, views and invitations to our Tastings.
In addition, we offer:
- Informal Tastings near Emsworth
- Tutored Tastings for groups and organisations
- Wedding/party/event wines on a sale or return basis
- Regular case offers, which are a good way of trying different wines at a greater discount
